The Pen is Mightier than the Sword

For the first time I am posting in the Blogger. Kindly pardon me if any false language and any grammatical mistakes.

SUMMARY

Whosoever has said so has indeed told the truth that Sword cannot overcome pen. What does a pen stand for? It stands for the art of writing. It stands for the press, newspapers, books, and other writings. All writings aim to connect one mind with another to persuade the reader to wake up the writer's views on a particular subject. The reader has the right to hold his views. He need not be convinced of the writer's judgment and the opinions presented to him. Therefore, we may say that the pen stands for peaceful means by which a person is persuaded to accept the writer's views. Whereas the Sword always stands for force.

Indeed, the pen is the better of the two. But the Sword is not without its uses. In this world, there are not only good, sincere, honest, and responsible people but also dishonest and highly unreasonable people. No argument can persuade them, and then you are compelled to defend yourself. They may attack you for no rhyme or reason. At such times, the Sword is required; where arguments fail, the Sword succeeds. But this doesn't mean the use of a sword is desirable. More often than not, it has been misused. History shows how kings and generals owned power and used it to oppress the people.

We all say that by using a sword, we gain glory and create history. But it has been truly said that 'Anyone can create history, but only a few can write history.' All thoughtful men prefer the pen to the Sword. The Sword can succeed only through fear, but with the pen, one can win hearts. The power of writing is constant, while the power of the Sword is temporary. The writer or the debater, by his writing on reasoning power, rules the day. People have greater faith in the power of the pen than in that of a sword.

Therefore, violence cannot change views or beliefs; one has to communicate through their writing to understand the mind and heart of the people. The Sword always makes the war that kills the people compared with a pen; it understands the mind and heart of the people. Consequently, the power of a pen is enormously more immense than a sword. The Sword might be mighty but cannot conquer millions of hearts and minds the way pen does.
